Throughout the history of independent United States, the country has attracted immigrants from different parts of the world. Illegal immigrants form the larger proportion of the immigrants into the United States. It has become a matter of debate and study as it relates considerably to the nationââ¬â¢s politics and economy. Various studies have shown that majority of the United States citizens think that illegal immigrants are bad for the nationââ¬â¢s economy. However, there are those who believe that they are good for the economy. Several surveys show that there is consensus among many economists that both legal and illegal immigration is good for the economy as it provides cheap labor, gives net boost to the economy, reduce the cost of goods and services, and widens the market for goods and services (Kenney 23). This paper will discuss illegal immigration and its impact on the economy.
